Time Not Saved: Project Labor SKU Doesn't Match an Item in Catalog

What this error means and how to fix it.

Written by Fred Pape

When someone clocks into a job, SynkedUP uses a default labor item to charge out their time for job costing and, sometimes, billing. If that labor item can't be found, the time won't save and you'll see this error.

What the error means

Every labor item in your item catalog has a SKU. On the My Company page, you choose your default labor items by pasting their SKUs into two fields: Project Labor SKU and Maintenance Labor SKU. The error means the SKU saved in one of those fields is no longer a valid labor item. Either the SKU was changed, or the item was deleted.

How to fix it

  1. Open your item catalog and find the labor item you want to use as the default. Copy its SKU.

  2. Go to My Company.

  3. Paste the correct SKU into Project Labor SKU, Maintenance Labor SKU, or both, depending on which one is out of date.

  4. Click Save.

  5. Have the person clock in and save their time again. Once both fields hold valid SKUs, the error clears.

Tips

  • If you change a labor item's SKU or delete the item, update My Company with the new SKU right away.

  • Check both fields. The error can come from either one.
