How to Add Actual Items to a Job in the Mobile App

Record items used for a job in the Mobile App

Once you're out on the job and getting work done, you need to record the actual materials that you used. There are two ways to do that in the Mobile App. This tutorial shows you two different ways to record actual materials:

  1. In a timesheet when you're clocking out

  2. In the Actual tab of a Project

This video walks you through the steps.


Step by Step:

This first tutorial is for recording actual items from a timesheet. If you want to do it from the Projects section of the app, scroll down to the second tutorial.

Step 1:

On the Overview screen in the Time section of the app, click on a timesheet for the job you're working on.

Step 2:

Click the Review button on the Time Card.

Step 3:

Here's where you can record the actual items for the job. This screen shows all the estimated items for the job and you can hit the green plus button or click on the item and type in the quantity for the items that you used that day. If you used an item that wasn't estimated for the job, hit the blue plus button beside the workarea name and search the item catalog for the job.

You can click the three dots at the top of the screen to toggle the view to allow you to see the estimated quantities for each item.

Step 4:

After you've recorded all the items you used that day, hit Next and complete the clocking out process.


The second way for recording actual items is in the Projects section of the app.

Step 1:

Click on Projects in the main menu.

Step 2:

Select the project you want to add items to.

Step 3:

Click on the Workareas tab in the Project.

Step 4:

Select a workarea.

Step 5:

Scroll down till you see the items list for the workarea, then click on the Actual tab.

Step 6:

To increase the quantity of an estimated item, click on the green plus button. Update the quantity and hit Save.

To add a new item, hit the round orange plus button at the bottom of the screen.

This takes you to the item catalog. Select your item and hit Add Items.

This takes you back to the Workarea screen. Enter the quantity and then hit Save.

And that's how you record actual items for a job!
