How to Create Work Areas for Snow Removal Services that Bill Per Push Plus Salt Used
1. Create a Maintenance Job
2. Click "Plan"
3. Click "Add Work Area"
4. Name the Work Area
5. Click the "Cost Code" field
6. Choose a Cost Code
7. Click the "Division" field
8. Choose a Division
9. Click "Create Work Area"
10. Click "Add Work Area"
11. Name the Work Area to record salt or other materials used
12. Click the "Cost Code" field
13. Choose a Cost Code
14. Click the "Division" field
15. Choose a Division
16. Click "Create Work Area"
17. Click "Edit"
18. Since this is a Per Push type charge, change the pricing type to "Per Visit"
19. Click "Per Visit"
20. Click "override Final Price" to give the Per Push price, or go ahead and estimate it out to determine the price
21. Type in the amount you want to charge per push
22. Click "Set Value"
23. Click into the second Work Area
24. Click on "Pricing Type"
25. Click "Time and Materials"
26. Click "Open Catalog Browser"
27. Click the "Search" field
28. Type "salt" or whatever material you are looking to track and charge extra for
29. Choose the material
30. Adjust pricing if needed and click "Close"
Alternative method to track salt used but not charge additional for it
31. Go into the "Edit" mode
32. Click "Work Areas"
33. Click the Work Area that is set up for per push pricing
34. Click "Open Catalog Browser"
35. Click the "Search" field
36. Type "salt" or whatever material you wish to track
37. Add that material to the estimate
38. Click "Close"
39. Now you can track how much salt (or other materials) that are used, but it will only charge the per push amount.
