SynkedUP uses six user roles to decide who can do what. You turn them on per-user on Setup → Users → User Roles. A user can have more than one role — for example, a foreman who also does estimates.
The six roles
Open a user on Setup → Users, scroll to User Roles, and toggle any of these on:
Foreman — clocks in and out on the mobile app, sees the jobs they're assigned to, leaves field notes, and handles day-of execution. Foremen don't see job pricing by default (more on that below).
Sales — can create estimates and jobs, receives an email notification when a proposal is approved, and can have consultations scheduled to them.
Estimator — can create estimates and jobs.
Scheduler — can be selected on a job to receive an email when that job is marked Sold.
Accounting — can create invoices and link them to QuickBooks (if you're on QBO).
Administrator — full access, including budgets and user permissions. Give this one sparingly.
Turn on as many as the person needs. Save when you're done.
The one extra toggle: Allow Invoicing
Separately from the six role toggles above, there's one more control you'll run into: Allow Invoicing on My Company → Roles. It's a per-role toggle — turning it on for a role lets anyone with that role see pricing and invoicing info.
This is the only editable setting in the My Company → Roles area today. If you open a role there and see just one switch, that's expected — you're not missing anything.
The gotcha: Foremen and pricing
By default, Foremen don't see job pricing. They can see item cost in the item catalog when they're adding materials on a job, but they won't see estimate totals, workarea pricing, or invoice amounts.
If you want a specific foreman to see pricing, turn Allow Invoicing on for the Foreman role on My Company → Roles. That change affects every user who has the Foreman role.
If that's too broad and you only want one or two people to see pricing, give those people an additional role (like Estimator or Administrator) rather than opening up the whole Foreman role.
