How to pull a report for timesheets

Need to run payroll and looking for the total times for each employee? Here's how. Export directly to QuickBooks or print a Report.

Written by Weston Zimmerman

If you are looking for the total time of any employee so that you can run payroll, here's how to pull the time report.

What this report covers: hours only β€” regular, overtime, and totals, broken out by crew member.

What it does NOT cover: timecard notes / clockout notes, job-level item or material lists, or anything other than time. To view notes, see Workflow: How Notes are Created and Viewed. For the full list of what you can pull out of SynkedUP, see What You Can Export from SynkedUP.

Here's a video tutorial and step-by-step instructions.

Step by Step:

Step 1:

Go to Time on the main sidebar.

Step 2:

Select a beginning date and an ending date for the time period. You can also select either All crew members or a specific employee. This field is right beside the date range.

A date range is required. If you leave the dates blank and try to export, you'll get a CSV with only the column headers and no rows β€” same goes for the PDF report.

Step 3:

After you have selected your dates and employees, you have two options. You can either:

  • export the hours to QuickBooks

  • print a report

For the first option, first, select the hours you want to export. Then hit the blue Export button.

For the second option, hit the green Report icon on the upper right side of the screen. This will generate a PDF that breaks out the hours and timesheets into one page per crew member, per week. The report will show each timesheet, total regular hours, total overtime hours, and total hours.

Notes are not included. Timecard notes and clockout notes don't appear on this PDF, in the QuickBooks export, or in the Timesheets CSV. They're only viewable inside each timecard, or via the Notes icon on the visit in Projects β†’ Visits.
