If you're trying to import Customers from QuickBooks and you get a cryptic message error message this article will help you resolve it.

There are two reasons you could be getting an error:

  1. QuickBooks is currently disconnected.

  2. The Customer's address includes the country, which hasn't been formatted properly.

You can check if the first reason is the problem by refreshing your QuickBooks connection. Read this article if you're unsure how to do it.

If it's the second reason, your error will look like this:

What this error is saying is that the customer's address includes the name of their country, which isn't formatted correctly. To import a Customer from QuickBooks to SynkedUP, the country information needs to be a two-letter abbreviation. For example, United States needs to be "US" and Canada needs to be "CA". Anything more than two letters will trigger this error.

This video tutorial will show you how to resolve the issue:

Step by Step:

Step 1:

Log into your QuickBooks account.

Step 2:

Click on Sales and then Customers to go to the Customer you're trying to import.

Step 3:

Click on the Customer, then hit Edit.

Step 4:

Here's the problem. The country information is not in the right format. Change it to be two letters - in this case, we'll change it to "US".

Hit Save.

Step 5:

Ok. Now we're ready to go back to SynkedUP and import the Customer.

Refresh your browser and click Import Customers again.

Step 6:

Select the Customer and hit Import Selected again.

Step 7:

You should get a success message that looks like this.

Hopefully, that cleared up the issue! If not, send us a message in the chatbox!
