List upload assistance
As you know we are here to help you as much as possible. Included in that is helping you get your Customer/Item lists uploaded and updated. We have now made it easier for you to get that help from us. On the system setup>import/export page within SynkedUP you will now find a link to upload your list to us. You can now get your list to us directly from within SynkedUP. See image below.
Invoicing visibility
Over the years invoicing confusion has been an ongoing topic in the support chat. In an effort to create an easier understanding and less confusion we have started a journey of reworking how invoicing works. The first crucial phase is to give users a visual display of the SynkedUP invoice along side the QuickBooks invoice. A lot of confusion was caused by the QuickBooks version of the invoice being altered. This may have occurred by issuing a late fee, giving a discount, etc. With this first upgrade you are now able to see the differences and clearly understand them. This is the first step of many that will lead to a largely improved invoicing experience.
Success checklist upgrades
If you are relatively new to us, as in you joined us in the last 9 months or so, you have the benefit of the SynkedUP success checklist to help you get rolling with the system. We recently made some minor changes to it in an effort to make it even more valuable to a new SynkedUP user. First thing is we added a couple steps outlining the very beginning of the journey. More importantly, we have given a way for a new user to tell us what their very first goal is. We then flag that with them and set a target date to achieve it by. This holds everyone accountable to make sure their goals are met.
On that note, if you ever want to access the checklist for maybe a new employee to learn the system, you can always turn it on via the "My Company" page.
Time entered via web app
Within SynkedUP there is something called a visit. A visit is essentially a container for other things (time sheets, materials, etc.). When creating a timesheet, you automatically create a visit. The challenge was, if I created a timesheet today that was actually for yesterday, it was easy to forget to also edit the visit date. This led to confusion when visit dates and timesheet dates did not match. There were also some weird behaviors when editing a visit date, which would edit the timesheet date in unintended ways. We made some minor changes and now the visit date should match the timesheet date, unless you specifically make them different. Hopefully this makes it easier to make timesheets from the web app, especially backdated ones.
Added to the Customer Success Team
We are beyond excited to share this news!! Kyle and Lynae Nichols welcomed their daughter, Hayleigh Brooke, on June 20, 2024 at 5:32am. She weighed 10lbs 4oz and was 20 inches long. It has been a long journey for Kyle and Lynae, but with lots of prayers, love, and a little bit of science, they were able to conceive. There were many highs and lows, but with God's grace they were able to begin their long awaited family. Welcome to the Jr. SynkedUP Team, Hayleigh! ❤️
General Housekeeping
Mobile app upgrade
We just completed another round of mobile app upgrades. While you will not notice any significant changes, this work in the back end is crucial for us staying current with todays app standards.
Budget updates to item catalog
For a brief period of time, we had a bug when updating your budget in the item catalog. It was not affecting unsold projects in the way it was anticipated. It was a very simple fix and now everything updates as it should.
Hidden draft invoices
While SynkedUP invoicing works via QuickBooks Online, some users use as much as they can of SynkedUP without invoicing and therefore never connect to QuickBooks Online. When you send a proposal for a project, it automatically makes a draft down payment invoice. However, if you are not connected to QuickBooks Online, that draft invoice was hidden. This caused problems when trying to edit final prices, since there was technically an invoice against it. We've made a change so that will no longer be an issue if you are not connected to QuickBooks.
As always make sure the refresh often so you are always on the latest version.
